“I believe musicians have a duty, a responsibility to reach out, to share your love or pain with others.” – James Taylor 🙌🏻 To all of you church musicians and worship leaders out there: I think JT has some wisdom for us regarding leading worship. 🎸 Over the past 10 years of leading worship, we’ve found that being prepared to perform is only the beginning, being prepared to share our joy, love, or pain each time we lead is the next step. Be vulnerable. 🙌🏻 Are we joyful? Let it show. Are we repentant? Be vulnerable. Are we experiencing God’s love in new ways? Celebrate it! It helps the congregation to connect with the joy, love, or pain that they’ve experienced. I believe it’s our duty and a lofty privilege to reach out, and find joy and connection in (hopefully 😬) reciprocity!
